As a part of a project, my objective was to change the perception of plastic by creating a collection that would show the possibilities of using recycled plastic beyond its intended life. During reasearch, I asked people to give me words that come to mind when they think of plastic and I kept hearing "hard/rigid", "inexpensive", "manmade", etc. so I wanted to take those and create a design that would have soft, fluffy, organic shapes. I used this image of whipped cream as my inpriation.

I began by manipulating recycled plastic mesh

Then, I placed the plastic mesh on a dress in a more of an organized chaos way to achieve fluffy swirls

The dress itself is made of recycled vynil and this is the final result
